Our Department is dedicated to prevention and Control of Public health problems in the community. We are teaching comprehensive Preventive, Promotive, Curative health care and Health Education as per AETCOM MODULE.  We are working on National Health Programmes and moving to eradication of communicable and Non Communicable diseases.

Research:

Our faculty members are engaged in cutting-edge research across a spectrum of public health, communicable diseases and non-communicable diseases, etc. We foster an environment that encourages collaboration and innovation, contributing to advancements in the field. We also play an important role in guiding the post graduates of various departments for their dissertation. We conduct research methodology workshops for undergraduates and post graduates. We conduct health days and create awareness among the public on the relevant topics annually. We’re engaged in NSS and RED RIBBON CLUB activity.

Academics:

As education as top most priority, we provide comprehensive training to MBBS students from first year, second year and third year in the form of lectures, small group discussions, self directed learning, field visits, family adoption program, block postings and case discussions. Interns are being trained at Primary Health Care centres as per NMC guidelines. Our curriculum integrates foundational knowledge with the latest developments in community Medicine, preparing students for diverse career paths in academics, public health and approach to community. We secured 100 % pass results for the last 5 years.

Non communicable disease clinic:

We’re more working on to the reduce the morbidity and mortality of non-communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetes mellitus, Ca breast, ca oral cavity, coronary artery disease, chronic kidney disease, ca cervix. Screening is being done from 18 years for diabetes and hypertension and periodic awareness and health education is given to the public.

Family adoption program:

Family adoption program is a part of curriculum in community medicine from 1st MBBS throughout the course. The aim of the program is to provide a learning opportunity towards community-based health care and enhance equity in health.
